Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains what data Shanghai Street Food (shanghaistreetfood.com) collects when you visit, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep the list short because we keep the data short.
What we collect
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how people find the site. GA4 sets cookies and logs standard technical data (pages viewed, approximate region, device and browser type, referrer). We do not track you across other websites, and we do not use Analytics to identify individual visitors.
- The support form. If you contact us through thesupport form, we receive the name (optional), email address, and message you provide. We use them only to reply to you, and we don't add you to any mailing list.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider processes brief technical request logs (IP address, URL, timestamp) to run the site securely and defend against abuse.
That's the whole list. We don't require accounts, we don't run comment sections, and we don't ask for or store payment details — we sell nothing on this site.
Advertising
We plan to fund the site with a small amount of advertising. When ads appear, they will be served through Google AdSense or a similar provider. These providers may set cookies or use device identifiers to select or limit the ads you see, including personalized ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
- You can review or change your ad personalization settings atGoogle's Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of many third-party vendor cookies generally ataboutads.info/choices(oryouronlinechoices.comwithin the EU/UK).
Your choices
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the guides remain fully readable without them.
- Install a content blocker for analytics and ad scripts — we're fine with that.
- Email us via thesupport formto ask what (if anything) we hold that involves you.
Third-party links
Our guides link out to maps (Amap, Google Maps) and other sites. Once you follow a link, the destination site's own privacy policy applies, and we have no control over it.
Children
This site is a food guide written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13; we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes (for example, when advertising actually switches on) will be described here in plain language.
